EXXIT is a strategy game for 2 players designed by Vincent Everaert.
At the very start of a long dream, Great Shiva undertook the creation of the world. He called together two outstanding powers, and one of these powers is in your hands. You can name these principles whatever you like, according to the way you perceive the world: Good and Evil, Order and Chaos, Cold and Hot, Matter and Antimatter, or even Light and Shadow. They are but multiple perceptions of the same opposed principles. Thus, Powers fought for the sake of the Outside, the Exxit. With their union and the dance of attraction between their elementary particles, The Universe has come to life; however, only one of these two powers controls it.
From a minimal board made up of four hexagonal flagstones, the players must extend their territory by gaining new flagstones. For that, they each use eight pawns and try to make leave the unfavourable pawns the board in order to imprison them to later release them. Exxit deploys a simple and original mechanism: the distribution, which creates astonishingly complex tactical and strategic situations.
Components: cotton case, 8 red plastic discs, 8 'silver' plastic discs, 39 double sided red/silver hexes. The hexes are made of 6 mm thick laser-cut acrylic.
There are other editions out there, but not as awesome as this.
