Shibumi is the essence of beauty, or elegance in its minimal form. A shibumi object may appear simple but will reward the viewer with hidden depths as it is explored over time. Shibumi is simplicity hiding complexity.
The Shibumi set is not a single game but many games; it is the simplest of game systems. The common components are a square board with 4x4 holes and 48 white, black and red balls (16 each). It was invented by Cameron Browne in 2011.
Shibumi is presented in 3 different editions: Shogun, Samurai and Ninja. You can also get aditional components in the 'Extras' section. You can also watch Néstor showing Shibumi at the boardgamegeek booth here (Essen 2011).
The rule book is not included. You can order the full-colour, professionally bound book describing the system and the best 30 Shibumi games so far, including the Shibumi Challenge prize winners and several other of our favourite entries, in Lulu.com . All of the profits derived from the sales of this book will be donated to ayudarjugando.org.
UPDATE: You can now purchase the book directly here, on nestorgames!
