This is the Second Edition of AKRON, a board game for 2 players by Cameron Browne. The board is now 3D printed.

Akron is a generalization of standard connection games (such as Hex, Unlur,...) to three dimensions. The pieces consist of balls of two colors placed in a square grid. One player seeks to connect the top and bottom edge by pieces of his color, while the other player seeks to connect left and right. The twist that makes the game three dimensional is that under certain circumstances you can place a ball on the space supported by four balls already on the board. In a novel twist, moves can make balls drop to change the connection on the board.

Components: 8x8 red 3D printed board, 4 side marker rods (2 white, 2 red), 32 white balls and 32 black balls (19mm diameter; plastic), bag.

Expansion: On very rare occasions among advanced players, all the balls have been played (draw) and a few more have been needed to continue the game. You can purchase 32 additional balls (16 per colour) for 10 Eur. Email me for this.

You might wish to purchase the beautiful Deluxe Edition instead.
